Maddalena, an eccentric retired seamstress, resists her young landlady´s pressure to move out. When her beloved cat mysteriously disappears, she is confronted with the fragility of her routine, realizing what she really holds dear.

Maddalena’s orderly world collapses as her young landlady, Sabrina, becomes pregnant and sees herself forced to turn the apartment into B&B. Determined not to be evicted, Maddalena wages a war not just to protect her apartment but also to save Miuccia´s home.
